ESL Volunteers Needed!
July 29, 6:30 pm - September 9 - 8:00 pm | The MET Church - main campus atrium classrooms (2nd floor)
The ESL Ministry at The MET is growing!
Whether you wish to help teach in a classroom or can be available to offer a helping hand, we would love to get to know you!
Want to be an ESL Facilitator but not sure how? Let us know and we can help you find a training to prepare those who wish to teach ESL.
Please note, you do not have to speak a second language to be a leader with ESL! Our students are encouraged to speak only English to help their development and growth.
ESL classes meet most Wednesday nights beginning September 7 with registration/assessment and continue through May 2023. We are looking for volunteers that are able to commit to both the fall and the spring semesters.
ESL Serving Opportunities:
- Facilitators: The time required to serve in this ministry may vary from person to person; however, a Facilitator can expect to spend 4-6 hours/week preparing curriculum, teaching and engaging in student follow up. Our goal is to have multiple facilitators per classroom to share in this responsibility.
- Classroom Support: This can be administrative or relational support! We want our classes to be equipped to help students improve in their language skills as well as be connected into meaningful relationship with God and each other.
- Hospitality: Our ESL ministry loves to celebrate! Many times throughout the year, the classrooms come together to play games, sing songs or simply have time to fellowship with one another. If you love to host parties and coordinate events, then you are invited to come be a part of ESL!
If you have immediate questions and wish to learn more, please send an email to ESL@themet.church or call 281-890-1900.
