Biblical discipleship in relational environments.
There is no question that as you read scripture, God has hard-wired you to be in relationship. Relationships happen in our small groups and are a key component to reaching your potential as you mature in Christ. Small groups are community-based relational environments that meet weekly for the purpose of Biblical discipleship. They are the primary vehicle by which we carry out the vision and mission of the MET.
In Genesis 2:18 we see the first real crisis in the Bible – God looks at man and says, “It is not good for the man to be alone.” It is here we see that we were actually created, hardwired for relationships – first a relationship with God, second a relationship with each other. It is because of this that we hold so tightly to discipling people in the context of meaningful relationships.
“By this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35 NIV
