On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther challenged the practices of the Church by posting his 95 Theses in Wittenberg, Germany. What followed became the Reformation; a movement that changed the Church and left a lasting impact on Western civilization.
Join Dr. Rex Butler for an eight-week journey through the people, ideas, and events that shaped this pivotal period of church history. Together, we’ll explore Martin Luther and his teachings, the Swiss Reformation, the Anabaptists and John Calvin, the English Reformation, how we got the English Bible, and the beginnings of the Baptist movement.
If you love history or simply want to better understand how the Church became what it is today, this course will help connect the people and events of the Reformation to the faith we practice today.
