Deacon Nomination

Nominate a Deacon

At The MET, Deacons play a vital role in serving and supporting the church. As we enter the Deacon nomination process, we invite you to prayerfully consider who among our church family exemplifies the character and heart of a Deacon.

Any MET Church member can nominate a Deacon. However, spouses and immediate family members should not nominate their relatives. Each nomination should include the nominee’s full name and a brief explanation of why they would make a great Deacon.

Nominees must meet the Biblical qualifications as outlined in 1 Tim 3:6-12 NLT to be considered.

What is a Deacon?

The role of a Deacon is modeled after Acts 6:1-7, where the early church appointed Deacons to assist the apostles in meeting the growing needs of the church community. At The MET, Deacons serve by:

  • Providing practical and spiritual support to the church body
  • Assisting church leadership in carrying out ministry
  • Demonstrating humility and a heart for serving others

Deacons serve in a variety of ways, including visiting and praying with those in need, offering leadership and care in specific ministries, and supporting the mission of the church behind the scenes. While our pastors lead through teaching, vision, and shepherding, Deacons help ensure the practical needs of the church family are met.

Who Can Be Nominated?

At The MET, deacons serve as spiritual leaders, demonstrating integrity, faithfulness, and a heart for others. We are seeking men who live out biblical values, are committed to their faith, and actively engage in the life of our church. To be considered for nomination, candidates must:

  • Be a committed member of The MET Church
  • Actively serve in a ministry
  • Faithfully give/tithe
  • Be part of a small group for spiritual growth and accountability
  • Be spiritually mature, not a new believer
  • Be well-respected, known for integrity, and live with a clear conscience
  • Exercise self-control, be faithful in all they do, and manage responsibilities with honesty
  • Lead a life free from heavy drinking or financial dishonesty
  • Be faithful to their wife and lead their household well, guiding their children with wisdom and care
  • If married, have a wife who is respected, speaks with grace, and does not slander others

If you know someone who reflects these qualities and is called to serve, we invite you to prayerfully submit a nomination.
