ThankSending makes a visible impact on our community by providing all the ingredients for a Thanksgiving dinner (meal kit) to people in need, no strings attached.
This year we are partnering with Bleyl Middle School, The Brautigam Center, Black Elementary, and several other community partners to serve those in our community.
How does this work?
- Download the shopping list (or pick one up in the lobby on Sundays) and bring non-perishable food items to the lobby between October 29 and November 12.
AND/OR
- Donate to the “No Strings Attached” option at TheMET.Church/give to help with the purchase of turkeys and supplies. We recommend $20 or more, but everything helps!
Serve Opportunities:
We will assemble the meal kits on Wednesday night, November 15 and distribute the meal kits to the registered recipients on Thursday, November 16 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Sign up to serve!
Shopping List
All donations can be dropped off in The MET lobby on Sunday Mornings from October 29 through November 12. The counts below represent our total need. We are only accepting NON-PERISHABLE food items.
In order to best serve our community, our goal is to collect the following:
- Corn (15oz) – 500 cans
- Cream of mushroom soup (10.5oz) – 250 cans
- Cranberry sauce – 250 cans
- Boxed Cake Mixes with Frosting or Brownie Mixes – 500 boxes
- French fried onions – 250 cans
- Gravy mix – 250 packs
- Green beans (15oz) – 500 cans
- Instant mashed potatoes– 250
- Mac & cheese – 500 boxes
- Mini Marshmallows – 250 bags
- Stuffing – 250 boxes
- Yams – 500 cans
